Porvair Sciences to Showcase Latest Developments in Microplate Technology at Achema 2009

Porvair Sciences has announced that it will showcase its latest developments in microplate technology at the forthcoming Achema 2009 exhibition in Frankfurt, Germany.
Products on display will include the company's range of automated plate sealers, microplate evaporators, solid phase extraction equipment and a comprehensive selection of high quality, application optimized microplates for synthetic chemistry and life science applications.
Visitors to Stand G21-22 in Hall 6.2 will be able to see and discuss the new BioVyon® range of sample preparation microplates and columns. Based upon proprietary ultra-clean BioVyon 'solid state' media and ActiVyon™ technologies the new range of Protein A, C8 and C18 96-well plates and columns eliminate channelling effects found with traditional protein and SPE separation products. This enables higher purity separations and shorter processing times as flow rates can be increased.
For laboratories tasked with sealing small to medium batches of microplates - Porvair Sciences will be exhibiting the MiniSeal™ - an entry-level semi-automated thermal sealer. The versatile device is capable of producing a tight seal on any SBS proposed standard, deep well or PCR microplate from 3 to 62mm in height.
For scientists looking to remove the traditional drug discovery 'bottleneck' of solvent evaporation in 24-well microplates prior to analysis or reconstitution in buffer - the 24-well MiniVap™ sample concentrator will be of particular interest. The 24-well MiniVap takes just minutes to dry down a plate. Compact in design the MiniVap will fit into any standard fume cupboard and is ideal for labs tasked with smaller numbers of individual 24-well plates.
